QuickBooks Self-Employed App Removal

Starting January 2025, the QuickBooks Self-Employed app will no longer be available for download from the App Store and Google Play. However, if you have already downloaded the app, you can continue using it as usual.

It will remain functional on your device and you can manage your finances without interruption. But if you do encounter issues, Intuit has confirmed that customer support will still be available to assist users with questions related to the Self-Employed app.

Why is Intuit Removing the App?

The removal of the QuickBooks Self-Employed app is part of a broader strategy by Intuit, the company behind QuickBooks. They are focusing on enhancing their product offerings and encouraging users to explore other solutions like QuickBooks ‘Sole Trader’ or ‘Simple Start’.

By simplifying their range of products, Intuit seeks to streamline resources and invest in technologies that address the needs of a growing number of freelancers and small business owners

What If You Already Have the App?

If you have already downloaded the QuickBooks Self-Employed app, you can continue using it just as you always have. Intuit may limit future updates and new features as they focus on other products, while the app remains functional.

What are Your Options?

Download Before January 2025 – If you have not installed the app yet, make sure to download it before January 2025. After this date, new downloads will not be possible.

Back Up Your Data – If you are a current user, consider exporting your data regularly. While the app remains functional, having a backup is always a good idea.

Explore Alternative Solutions – Consider exploring other QuickBooks products; such as QuickBooks Sole Trader, which offers enhanced features for managing your business finances.

Consider Desktop Versions – Some users may prefer the desktop versions of QuickBooks as an alternative.
