The Minimum Wage rates increase from the 1st of April 2023
All employers should be aware that all minimum wage rates increase on the 1st of April of each year. This includes all National Minimum Wage rates and the National Living Wage rate.
Below you will find the current April 2022 rate and the new April 2023 rate for each age bracket with the percentage increase for each.
National Living Wage (23 years old and over)
- Current Rate since April 2022: £9.50
- New Rate from April 2023: £10.42
- Percentage Increase: 9.7%
National Minimum Wage – Adult Rate (21-22 years old)
- Current Rate since April 2022: £9.18
- New Rate from April 2023: £10.18
- Percentage Increase: 10.9%
National Minimum Wage (18-20 years old)
- Current Rate since April 2022: £6.83
- New Rate from April 2023: £7.49
- Percentage Increase: 9.7%
National Minimum Wage (16-17 years old)
- Current Rate since April 2022: £4.81
- New Rate from April 2023: £5.28
- Percentage Increase: 9.8%
National Minimum Wage (Apprentice Rate)
- Current Rate since April 2022: £4.81
- New Rate from April 2023: £5.28
